IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITIES!
WHAT ARE FAMILY SERVICE NIGHTS?
At family service nights, families from the community get-together to work on hands-on service projects that will benefit our local community. Kids of all ages are allowed, so no need to find a babysitter!
If you are a parent that wants to teach your children about the value of serving others in the community, these events are for you and your family!
Help your community
by participating in hands-on service projects that benefit your local community.
Teach your children
the value of caring for others in their community.
Meet new friends
and other families that also want to make the world a better place.
Utah Family Service Nights are typically held on the 2nd Monday evening. These events fill up very quickly! Families on our monthly donation plan get priority registration.
Families that attend that are not on our monthly donation plan are asked to donate $15 towards the cost of the supplies for the service projects. Without this donation, these events would not be possible so we appreciate your willingness to help!
This $15 donation is a tax-deductible donation made to the South Jordan Rotary and is collected at the time of registration. 100% of the donations go towards the Utah Family Service Night projects. If your family really wants to attend but can't afford the $15 donation, please email ann@taxnorthstar.com and we can work something out!
Monthly Donation Plan
MAKE FAMILY SERVICE NIGHTS SUSTAINABLE.
The success of the family service nights depends on two things: 1) Families attending and, 2) Funding for projects. By committing to donate $10 each month, you help provide regular funding for the projects and this makes the family service nights possible and sustainable!
In the past, family service nights have been funded by grants and business donations. These funding sources are unpredictable and unreliable. This leads to unpredictable events and unpredictable projects. Monthly donations creates reliable funding so that projects can be planned in advance so you know before-hand what we will be working on at the family service nights.
Your $10 monthly donation, combined with donations from other families in Utah, fund the supplies for the family service nights!
As a member of the monthly donation plan, your family also gets to vote on which projects we work on!
BENEFITS TO DONATING MONTHLY.
Priority registration
Sometimes our family service nights reach registration capacity as much as four months before the event! As a member of the monthly donation plan, you get priority registration so you are almost guaranteed a spot at any event you want to attend.
More service nights
Regular funding means we can have more family service night events. Instead of holding the events quarterly, we can hold them monthly. It also gives us the option of doing family service night events throughout Utah!
Vote on projects
As a member of the monthly donation plan, your family gets to vote on which projects we work on at our family service nights! Help us decide which projects are more engaging and meaningful to our family service night attendees.
Better project planning
Regular project funding leads to better project planning. Knowing when the funding is coming in makes it so we can plan out the projects in advance and have better-organized family service nights.
Monthly donations are facilitated through Grapevine.org and are tax-deductible.
100% of your donation goes towards Utah Family Service Night project funding.

TYPES OF PROJECTS WE WORK ON.
We work on many different types of projects at the family service nights. All of these projects are hands-on projects that people of all ages can help with.
A FEW OF THE PROJECTS WE HAVE DONE.
Easter baskets & eggs
We have provided Easter baskets for the children at The Christmas Box House and Venezuelan refugee children living in Utah. We have also filled as many as 6,000 Easter Eggs that get donated to Easter Egg Hunts at The Family Support Center and the Utah Down Syndrome Foundation.
Child care packages
We have made hundreds of fleece blankets and stuffed animals that go into child care packages that are donated to children at The Family Support Center and Venezuelan refugee children living in Utah.
Veteran care packages
We created Veteran Care Packages to help our veterans that are in need. These care packages were donated to the South Jordan VA Clinic and included needed hygiene supplies, a fleece blanket, and some snacks and puzzles.
Welcome baskets
We hand-made aprons that are part of a Welcome Basket that gets donated to The Family Support Center. The Welcome Baskets are given to families that live in the LifeStart Village at the Family Support Center and provide them with needed housing supplies like soap, towels, etc.

HELP US GROW.
Family Service Night attendees ask us all the time, "Are there any family service nights that are closer to me?" Our answer to that question is, "There could be!"
Are you willing to help facilitate a family service night that is closer to you?
You wouldn't necessarily have to plan or fund the project and we have the registration system set up that we could add your event to. You would just need to help find the venue (your local library works great!) and be willing to attend and manage the event.
Having a family service night closer to you could be a reality 😉. Let us know you are willing to help grow the Family Service Nights throughout Utah.
